Virginia Lean Unlimited (VaLU) was established by Elliott Weiss, Oliver Wight Professor of Business Administration, UVA Darden School of Business and Sean Jackson, Chief Information Officer, UVA School of Medicine and Physicians Group. VaLU is an organization of Lean practitioners with diverse backgrounds (Manufacturing, Healthcare, Higher Education) within the University of Virginia. Through our shared experience we seek to develop our skills and bring the benefits of Lean to our organizations. We meet every other month and at these meetings we share and discuss best practices, case studies, books, and papers. We also include guest speakers and trips to visit local gembas to observe Lean in action. We expect that our members will assist in ensuring that all topics are relevant and valuable and will work together to create a robust group of Lean practitioners.
